Certificates and awards
For previous performances our hotel has been awarded with the four stars of the German Hotel- and Restaurant Union (DEHOGA), the certificate "Service Quality Germany, Level I" as well as the badge for a "National Park-friendly hotel" and 2010, 2013 and 2015 we won the first place as the most welcoming hotel in the Saxon Switzerland-East Ore Mountains district. Every award confirms our hard work, but at the same time it incites us to improve our services even more.

DEHOGA - hotel star classification
The Saxon Hotel and Restaurant Association e.V. (DEHOGA Saxony) is the professional organization of the hospitality industry in Saxony. As an association of entrepreneurs, he represents the interests of the different types of business in gastronomy and hotel industry.
The DEHOGA established in 1996 an official hotel classification system in Germany on a voluntary basis that has been demanded by consumer associations for several years. Guests are given an expressive and reliable short message about quality standards of hotels within a star symbol scheme. The system is based on 19 minimum criteria and weighting points for each category such as aspects of the general conditions of the building, the furniture and the basics of accomodation facilities, …
As a member of the DEHOGA Sachsen, our hotel has first volunteered to the classification of a 4 star hotel in 2002 and achieved 591 points during the last revision certification in december 2017 of the 400 points required.
Service Quality Germany
Satisfied guests - our most important aim!
An initiative for more service quality in Saxony exists since 2003. Since then, more than 200 companies of the service industry are awarded with the certificate "Service Quality Germany, degree 1". You can recognize these businesses by the logo shown.
In December 2011 (in the course of the 2nd tourism day), our company got the certificate the first time and do not leave the quality to chance. Therefore, we undergo a special instruction and exam of the service progress. In this process all employees are conducted, to align and improve our service quality at our guest's request.
We are open for suggestions and wishes of our guests at any time. Each of our employees is the contact person. We see ourselves as a quality team and work together for first-class service. In addition, our company attaches great importance to a high level of guest and employee satisfaction.

National park partner
Our Berghotel Bastei was solemnly awarded the certificate 'NationalparkPartner' on May 13th, 2009. Our hotel is uniquely situated in the very heart of the national park Saxon Switzerland. That is why, we feel especially committed to the nature and landscape of this region. We are committed to the preservation of nature, inform our guests comprehensively about the services offered by the National Park Administration and through our products and services we want to present you the Saxon Switzerland at the best. Since 2009, we repeat the certification every three years with annual reviews.

Regional products are among the peculiarities that our beautiful cultural landscape has to offer. The association "Landschaf(f)t Zukunft e.V." (LSZ) has developed a network for regional products of different producers in the region.
In our menu the dishes, which are mainly prepared with regional products, are marked with the "apple logo".

Project partner Malerweg
The Elbe Sandstone Mountains Malerweg trail is one of the most picturesque hiking trails in Germany. Where once painters, musicians and literary greats sought inspiration for their timeless works, 112 kilometres of diverse trecking routes now lead through the region's fascinating rocky landscape in eight daily stages.
It is the overwhelming density of natural and historical attractions that makes the Malerweg the king of all hiking trails running through the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. Königstein Fortress, Pfaffenstein, Barbarine, Kuhstall, Affensteine, Schrammsteine, Kirnitzschtal, Hohnstein Castle, Rathen Open-Air Stage and lots more: Practically everything that makes the region famous can be found either directly on or in close proximity to the route. The Bastei with its famous bridge and our hotel are situated on the route as well.
For this reason, it is natural for us to be a member of the Malerweg project with our company and have certified us with the title "Hiking friendly at Malerweg". What this means and more information about the Malerweg can be found here.
Our hotel wins the trophy of hospitality in 2015
At the new year's reception of the Landrat on January 15, 2016, our Berghotel Bastei was awarded the "trophy of hospitality" in the category "Hospitable Hotel" in the Saxon Switzerland-East Ore Mountains district for the third time. Having already won this award in 2010 and 2012, we are particularly pleased with this renewed confirmation of our daily work. At the same time, this award is a great incentive for the continuous improvement of our service quality.
The trophy is awarded in three categories: "the most hospitable hotel", "the most hospitable guesthouse" and "the most hospitable restaurant". All participating hotels, restaurants and pensions are thoroughly tested until the award ceremony.
