The Elbe Sandstone Mountain, also known as Saxon and Bohemian Switzerland, is situated to the east of Dresden. This unique landscape streches along the river Elbe between Pirna and Dêcin on both sides of the border between Saxony and the Czech Republic. Steep cliffs with breathtaking views, deeply carved gorges with clear water streams, majestic table-top mountains, bizarre rock needles, wild forest parts with their very own and sometimes rare flora and fauna, hiking trails for romantics and nature lovers – all that and much more the Elbe Sandstone Mountain has to offer to its visitors.
See for yourself, the following short extract from the film "Ein Märchen aus Stein" shows you the fascination of the Elbe Sandstone Mountain in an impressive way.
